Hear from Chris in his own words about his background and approach to being a financial adviser…
What’s the most rewarding part of your role?
Helping my clients to sleep better at night! I’ve witnessed first hand the amount of stress that finances can bring to people. So there’s nothing more rewarding for me than seeing the relief on a clients’ face when I am able to solve a problem for them. Not only does it visually bring their stress levels down, they are also left with an increased sense of financial wellbeing which empowers them to lead happier and healthier lives.
What is unique about working for Wealth and Finance Matters?
I’ve recently joined the team at Wealth and Finance Matters and one of the reasons I was attracted to join the business was the opportunity I was presented with to build my own portfolio and client base. They are a business that are keen to nurture the ambition I have, allowing me to utilise my specialist skills and support my growth.
How would you describe the difference financial advice makes to clients?
I like to think of myself as a planner rather than an adviser, as my focus is on helping clients to plan for their future using a holistic approach. I help clients to achieve what their goals by helping them to first visual their plan; then to realise it and then to actualise their dreams.
What would you say to someone who said financial advice wasn’t right for them?
It’s a misconception that you need to have a certain amount of wealth in order to access financial advice, in my view it should be accessible to all and it’s never too late (or early in fact!) to begin planning. If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.
What’s your biggest achievement?
Completing all my finance exams whilst working full time and being a father to two young children. I always strive to be the very best Dad I can be for them and to provide and support them both emotionally and financially.
What are your hobbies?
I am a general lover of sports – anything from Rugby to NFL to Cricket. I like to keep fit – be that in the gym or out walking in the Welsh hills with my family. On return there’s nothing I love more than to cutch up with my boys and watch an animated movie together.
What’s one fun fact not many people know about you?
I once tackled Liam Williams in a game of Rugby!
